Lynda’s Bio – The Core of Who I Am — 8 Comments

  1. You did an excellent job writing your bio, Lynda. I could not condense my life into a short summary (besides it wouldn’t be nearly as interesting as yours!)
I look forward to each of your posts. I especially loved last years “word” – evergreen. It seemed so appropriate.
    Thanks for sharing.

    • Thanks so much!
I’ve been on a revision binge with my bio. lol
Today I worked on one that is about 160 words an I will post that one also.
Updating the bio is important – so it is good to have 2 or 3 of different lengths, according to what need may come up. It’s kind of fun.

  2. I most appreciate the piece you have in the grey box and mission statement. It takes courage to invite readers to make comments on your bio. Kudos for your brave move.

Would love to see your experience in Austria included in your rich bio.

Keep sharing the light you were meant to bring to our world!

    Christina

    • I appreciate you comments and suggestions so much, Christina. It’s hard to condense a career of nearly 50 years into a short bio. This just briefly touches a few key elements, I know. Thanks.

  3. I think it’s great, Lynda. Yes, it is really difficult to know what to put in a bio. You want to give as much information as possible but at the same time keep is as compact as possible. I think you have created a good balance.

    • Thank you so very much for your visit and your comments. Yes! I agree with you – this is just a very little snippet of a photo, but you are so right. It has to be concise – and I am a tweaker. Endlessly revising. lol I always enjoy reading your articles – you have such a rich history of writings on your blog.

      • You are welcome, Lynda. I am like you, constantly revising–seems like there is no end to it.
Thank you for the compliment on my blog. I haven’t written anything new for a long time. I had pretty much of a stagnant time for a couple of years, but I’m back at writing books again. I just published another one last week and am working towards finishing another. I will be a while yet getting this one finished. Then I have another started, but that one will require a lot of work to get it to the publishing stage.

        • I am so happy to hear this, Diane. I have taken the summer off from posting so much – just doing one piece on Saturdays, over the summer. I am working on a collection of poetry (Garden Songs) for publication – next year. And, I am beginning work on a memoir. I got a copy of the book, “Old Friend from Far Away,”by Natalie Goldberg. I am going to work my way through that book – very slowly. I saw in this book many things I wanted to do in my own book – no chronology, rather, slices of life which are multi-layered – as life really is. Summer is busy for me because I have a lot of outside work to do in the flower gardens, and maintenance projects on the house and studio and property. I am working at finding balance in it all – best of everything to you in your new adventures. Lynda
