1. How do you know if you are connecting with another person?
I don’t know. It can be years later before we really know if a connection was made with another person. I think of it as sending out ships. Some ships return quickly, others come back to us after many years. As a retired professor, I am often surprised when a former student contacts me to say how they were impacted by what they learned from me or how much they loved a class they were in with me. Connections are not always apparent at the time you are in direct contact with a person.
2. To be beautiful means. . .
There is an implied comparison with something else that is completely opposite of beautiful.
Beauty is a value judgement. Our purpose in life is to be a reflection of our Creator – and when we are doing that, we walk in beauty.
3. Do you spend a lot of time keeping up with what is going on.
I’m interested in what is going on with people I know personally. I often send little reminders that I am thinking of them that day. I love to send out little surprise packages that arrive in their mailbox. I set aside days when I can focus on doing this and it is a great joy to send them out. People need to know that someone is thinking about them and sending them love.
4. True or False. You feel that your friends have more rewarding experiences in their lives than you. False
5. During covid19 pandemic do you feel more swamped by your responsibilities than before the pandemic?
Before, during, and after, I will remain the same person who is responsible for my time and the activities and challenges in my life every day.
How I “feel” is totally in my control. My attitude is up to me. It’s up to me to set the schedule for my day and to manage the time. I never permit fear & panic to impact my thinking – I still love to get up in the morning and say, “Today, I get to….” and walk into the new day with a joyful spirit of thankfulness for life. Instead of my morning at the gym, I am at work in my flower gardens. I read only positive and enriching books and I stay focused on my purpose in life.

Bonus: What’s on your mind?
Oh, this is what FaceBook asks ever day when I get on-line.
This morning I have a couple things on my mind.
First, I think I’ll go outside and water the flower gardens. There is no rain in our forcast – I asked Siri about that!
Second, I think I’ll devote most of this day to the revision of my book, Concerti: Psalms for the Pilgrimage – It is now out of print after 17 years. I am working on a revision that will be published in early 2021.
