Stilettos – Mozart – Memorials
TMI Tuesday: August 4, 2020
Come play TMI Tuesday. Then go read what other bloggers have to say.
1. It’s okay if you don’t wear any stilettos or high heel shoes.
Disregard the high-fashion photos of sexy women wearing them. That is a lie – there is nothing beautiful or elegant about them. Be sensible and wear shoes that are comfortable and enjoyable.
2. What on earth are you here for?
This is a question that many people will never be able to answer, and it is sad to realize that. It is about who we are inside – our IMAGE – what we carry in our mind tells us who we are.
The term IMAGE has its roots in Genesis 1:27, wherein “God created man in his own image. . .” This scriptural passage does not mean that God is in human form, but rather, that humans are in the image of God in their moral, spiritual, and intellectual nature.
I am here for MAKING ART, WRITING POEMS and STORIES, and LOVING PEOPLE.
3. What has been the best day of your life?
The morning I arrived in Austria, 1991, for the Mozart Festival – the year-long celebration of the 200th anniversary of his death. This was a gift I gave myself for completing my MFA degree at West Virginia University. It opened the door that enabled me to live in Austria every summer and teach my course, “Drawing and Writing in Austria,” offered each year to students at Geneva College, and from other schools around the world.
I wrote my first book Concerti: Psalms for the Pilgrimage, during summer travels.
MORE stories inspired by MOZART, and life-experiences are in my book, Walking by Inner Vision: Stories & Poems
4. Are you ordinary or extraordinary? Why?
No hesitation – nothing ordinary about me, and never was anything ordinary about me from my birth to the present. It is PLAN A, all the way.
I AM BORN TO WIN (Zig Ziglar, thank you!) I plan to succeed in anything I do and I never quit – I’m self-motivated and always “ON.”
5. How do you want to be described by your friends?
My highest attribute is generosity. I love being a person who is generous and dedicated to the areas of life that are enriching. My focus is on the academic institutions that gave me life-enhancing opportunities as a student; animal support groups that make a difference; and Christian ministries that save the lives of children.
Bonus: After a breakup, would you rather be alone or surrounded by friends?
I’ve been married for fifty-nine years to my high-school sweetheart – so a breakup is nothing I even think about. Fidelity and life-long commitment in marriage is never out of style.
