From Lynda’s Journal
“Ancient Texts”
Adonai lives in the beginning line
Brings sacred revelations
Composed of words that
Dwell among the holy places
Elohim – psalms reveal messages
From first mark or final brush stroke
Guided by alphabetical order
Hebrew songs of sorrows and praise
Inspired writings – Alpha to Omega
Journeys to bring us together
Kyrios focused on the pilgrimage
Letters form sounds to guide us
Mnemonic reminders of mystics among us
Names of God on our forehead
Omega – It is finished!
Prayers, Hymns, and Psalms
Quietly moving symbols down the page
Respectfully writing my poem with
Successive letters from A to Z
The modern abecedarian is
Usually presented without
Verses and end rhymes
Words shall set us free to dance
X is an artifact of ancient Greek
Yeshua is always with us
Zion. The sacred composition is complete.

Backstory:
_Ancient Texts _
I wrote this poem from my thoughts on the word, “ancient.” I thought of the Biblical stories in the Old Testament and the names of God. I chose to use the ABECEDARIAN form because it is a logical progression of the alphabet from A to Z.
Look down the left side of the poem and you will see the alphabetical order from top to bottom of the poem. When I came to the “X” I was so delighted when I remembered that is is a symbol for Christ.
