One Word for 2024 – Faithfulness
Faithfulness.
Faith. Fullness.
Faith. Full.
Faithfulness – This is my 10th year to get one word to focus on for the entire year.
Each year that word comes to me on the morning of New Year’s Day.
I ask Go to give me the One Word that He wants me to embrace for the year.
You may ask;
How does One Word come to me?
I simply wake up in the morning and I hear the word.
I don’t hear it with my ears – or my mind. This kind of hearing is something much different.
It is a sort of “knowing” that comes over me – it is matter of fact, and I will have that word repeated to me often during the day. This is how God works with me. He speaks to me through the Holy Spirit, and I know right away what He is saying to me. In fact, he tells me several times just to be sure I understand the message! I laugh and say, “Yes, Lord. I’ve got it!” There is always a feeling of joy that comes to me when I hear His voice. It seems as though we are laughing together at such times. I can say it is like being with an old friend who knows me well. He knows my every thought and my every breath. He is the friend that is closer than a brother to me. He is with me when I wake up each morning, guides me through my days, and watches over me as I sleep at night.
My One Word is not from my own thoughts or contemplation. It is intimate and exactly the One Word that if just for me currently, like is a private conversation with a dear friend. The One Word become a living presence in my life for this New Year.
