Sunday Sunshine –
a SPECIAL TOPICS FEATURE
on Walking by Inner Vision
“What is that all about?” you are asking.
This is a celebration of notable people, places, event, and things.
Like all of my
Special Topic Features
listed on my Primary MENU BAR at the TOP of this page.
I don’t write features on a schedule, but I choose to do them RANDOMLY.
Keep in mind, I embrace RANDOMNESS AND CHANCE.
I like to WRITE when I have a good idea for something I want to share. Schedules don’t work very well with people like me. It’s just too left-brained for me to do anything on a regular schedule.
Today, I chose to feature The Old Farmer’s Almanac –
a print magazine and a virtual magazine.
Read it NOW!
Have you scanned through the pages of the Old Farmer’s Almanac lately? If not, I think you would really enjoy the magnitude of articles, exceptional photography, poetry, and even the advertisements and the store where you can purchase so many interesting and useful items.
For instance:
Do you know what gemstone is represented for the month of December?
Go ahead, take a guess. Click here to find it.
How about the FLOWER for December? See it here!
Do you know what the Winter Solstice is? See it here!
What day will we celebrate the Winter Solstice, and what it means?
Hint: You have 19 more days before we arrive at the Winter Solstice – let’s plan to do something out in NATURE that day. OK?
Tell me what you do that day. I’d love to hear about it.

If you LOVE gardening, nature, animals, weather conditions, geology, biology, horoscope, history, and more, you will really enjoy this magazine.
Let me know what you think after you visit The Old Farmer’s Almanac.
In today’s issue, I found a wonderful poem by William Cullen Bryant. It is posted below so you can read it, too.
I loved reading about Bryant’s passion for Winter and how he compared the brightness of Winter to the other seasons.
This poem was just perfect for this time of year when WINTER is not yet here. We still have to wait for the Winter Solstice to make the announcement and WELCOME WINTER into our life.
Personally, I hold winter deep in my heart every day of the year.
–
But Winter has yet brighter scenes—he boasts
Splendors beyond what gorgeous Summer knows;
Or Autumn with his many fruits, and woods
All flushed with many hues.
–William Cullen Bryant (1794–1878)

How about you? Do you also love winter?
Have you ever thought of the seasons as MALE gender, like Bryant did in this poem?
Does the use of the male gender, make you think more about the seasons and why he saw them as male?
What is it that you LOVE most about Winter?
