I am thinking a lot this week about
what I will contribute to the
Sizzling Summer Super Release
Book Launch Party
on August 3.

I am preparing my presentation for the event, I thought about how my readers might like to have a closer view into the life of an Author. They might enjoy hearing more about what a typical day is like in my personal and writing life.
I created a voice recording this morning in which I talked about what I am currently doing and I discussed what I am thinking about as I go through a normal morning. But after I listened to the recording, which I liked, I could not add it to this blog and I could not add it to FaceBook. Both social media venues did not allow me to add it – because it is an MP4 – recording! Now, how is that for a big surprise today. I am disappointed. I am especially surprised because I pay a LOT for both of my blogs since they are PREMIUM BLOG THEMES. Stupid planning, I’d say, about both FB and WP. .
I began to seriously consider speaking this morning while I was outside working in my flower gardens.
As I watered the gardens, pulled the weeds, and began to sweat in the early morning of this beautiful Sunday, I decided that you might enjoy listening to me as I describe a little bit of my life in rural western Pennsylvania. This is the place where I live and where I write my books and create my mixed-media fiber art. From this rural location, I produce writings and art that is enjoyed by people all over the world. Isn’t that amazing! But I could not post the voice recording so you cannot hear it.
Nevertheless, “Yes, it is a blessing” to share my life with all of you this morning.”
today, I am sharing the second photo from my new book: Star Signs: New and Selected Poems.
Each of the 4 sections in that book include a special photo that illustrates a theme or image mentioned in one of the poems.

While he works at the glass making, he takes photos of the process and finished pieces.

I selected this piece to go with my poem, “Of Smoke & Mirrors,” and was delighted when he agreed to allow me to use it in the book. Thank you Matt!
Matt is my grandson – so I get an inside view of his work when I have visited his studio.
Fire, flames, torches, tools, white-hot glass, and Matt choreographing the movements as he works with all of the elements.
