Do you have a flower garden?
Your garden can be a container garden, potted plants on your patio or stairway, or a typical flower garden in your yard.
Have you discovered a new plant or flower this summer that you fell in love with the moment you saw it?
*
That is what happened to me when I visited our local nursery.
My daughter and I meandered in the hot-house to view the flowers for sale. As I scanned the colorful flowers, one particular plant caught my attention. I stopped to take a closer look. This group of plants was so bright that I knew I had to take some home with me. I picked up a couple of the dramatic plants, and soon, I was loading up an entire tray of them. This plant was something that made me fall in love immediately.
I did not see any tags to indicate the name of the plant.
There was no information about it.
Should it be for in the sun or in the shade? I did not know. It did not matter. I had to have it regardless of where it would be planted. I’d find a special place for this beauty.
This plant sports brightly colored foliage.
It has such unusual shapes that you have to stop and take a second look at it. I had to touch it immediately because it was so unusual and I wanted to see how it was growing in the pots. Coleus a standout in my hanging baskets, pots, and in my flower gardens this summer.
Coleus is actually a tender perennial in the mint family that can be brought indoors in the winter, or grown as a houseplant. Use in underplantings, borders, or containers.

Another question is how large it will grow? The potted plants in my hands were small. Each plant was in a cup that fitted into the plastic trays with holders for the plants.

Please enjoy the photos of my Coleus: Great Falls Angel plants. They are joyously growing in several flower garden spots, in pots on my steps to the porch, and in hanging baskets. They are spectacular!
I continued shopping for my plants for the season and found a few others that I will write about in future posts. For now, I have to tell you about the little beauties.

I think I have to do a painting of Coleus Great Falls Angel – I’m tucking that thought into my mind to revisit at a later time.
Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. ~ Song of Songs 2:12
