Haiku to a California Mountain

            (From A to Z)

awesome, stupendous

quiet, dynamic glory

in timeless passage.

inspiring Half Dome

Yosemite’s kingly view

verticality.

magnificent jagged

bathed in luminous vastness

behold prescience.

breathtaking élan

aspiring to elegance

sharp Xerophyte peaks.

majestic, noble caps

ubiquitous and restive

this wondrous zenith.

omnipotent crags

fragmentary precipice

hauntingly quasi.

Note:

For the final day of August 2022 – Let’s take a trip to California.  I wrote this poem as my friend drove the car in Yosemite National Park. I was busy writing this poem in the back seat while my husband and friend were in the front seat. We arrived at Yosemite and we went to a cabin  for a little get-a-way in the mountains. I just had to find a word for every letter in the alphabet to describe this landscape.
