I have GIFTS to share with my readers today.
My ONE WORD for 2020 is “GIFTS.”
On New Years Day, each year, I select ONE WORD to live by for the entire year. My theme for 2020 is GIFTS.
Selecting ONE WORD for the year is the most exciting way to live in every aspect of my life.
That word takes on life and becomes my CORE theme – G
IFTS – both giving and receiving GIFTS.
Giving and receiving are equally important.
I received many gifts in 2020.
I gave many gifts to friends, family, and organizations I support.
GIFTS are important ~
Followers of Jesus understand that we are to be SERVANT LEADERS. We are often the opposite of what the world says is the path to success. We seek guidance from God first of all. If we don’t seek to know his PLAN for us first, then we go off the God-directed path and can become very confused and move about in uncertainty. We are servants who “seek first the Kingdom of God.” The first thing I ask for each morning is “What will you have me do today? I need your guidance and direction for every moment of this day.”
We understand the importance of seeking excellence in all we do – as a gift to our Creator.
Yet, at the same time, we are to be servants – Servant Leaders.
A Christian learns there is spiritual value in giving and receiving gifts.
We SOW and we REAP
We grow in fellowship with Jesus as we practice reciprocity..
ADVENT
Christians observe the four Sunday’s before Christmas by lighting ADVENT Candles for each week.
On Christmas Day we light the white candle, which is the Jesus Candle.
On Christmas Day, we have a group of five candles as we celebrate Advent.
Christmas Day is the beginning of Christmastide ~
At this time, just 2 days after Christmas, the company has left, the dinners are history, and we have a nice break from the daily grind during the next 12 days.
This is known as CHRISTMASTIDE (Christmas Time) ,
Twelvetide (for 12 Days of Christmas), and Yuletide.
Christmastide begins on Christmas Eve as Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Messiah. the Promised One of God.
What does the song , “The 12 Days of Christmas” mean?
Click here to solve the mystery?
Giving someone all the gifts in the song would be … pricey.
Instead, let’s give our GIFTS of LOVE to each other and to the world.
