This beautiful collection of poems features unique and apt observations of the Great Lakes region where I spent my youth. Each poem includes a personal touch, letting me view tree rings through the author’s eyes, or feel the anxiety of outrunning a sudden thunderstorm. I came away with the same sense of serenity typically reserved for a long walk. The author’s adept word choice and sensitivity to rhythm are surpassed only by her alliterative skill. I’ve been reading a poem each night before bedtime, letting these words fill my mind with visions of natural beauty as I drift off to sleep.

Why would I buy this book?
This is the perfect time to buy some new books and to snuggle up in a quiet place to read.
Don’t forget Books are great gifts that keep on giving.
Books are missionaries!
They travel to places we cannot go, and they minister to people we will never meet in person. We never know the distance a book will travel or the many people who will read it. A gift of a book is a gift of generosity and faith.

Note from Lynda:
I typically read and share books that are personal and witness to living a life that is positive, uplifting and faith-based. I affirm a biblical worldview of eternal life. I recommend books with confidence that you will enjoy reading. I seldom write a book review, however, in this blog I share my own writings and on occasion, writings by others that I appreciate and can recommend with confidence.
If you purchase and read Carol’s book, please consider writing a short reflection on it – a sentence or two is adequate. It means a LOT to know that you found Carol’s book of value in some way.
